When Pinoto was poisoned: I chose this picture to show how Lila reacted as she was worried for it and was sad about it. She could not accept the fact that Pinto was poisoned as she was close to it and did not want it to die.

When the medicine-man arrived to help her mother: Lila was worried about her mother. The medicine-man might not have cured her mother if her illness was incurable. Even so, her mother could have fallen ill again after being cured by him. I have chosen this picture as it a good way to show how worried Lila was then.

When she offered flowers to the sacred rock in the sea: Lila was praying hard to god as shown in the picture of a young woman praying at the beach. I have chosen this picture as it show how much Lila really meant when she was praying to god.

Me: Good morning Hari. I would like to conduct an interview on you.

Hari: Okay, sure.

Me: So Hari, how's the situation in Thul? Is everything fine there?

Hari: Yeah it's okay. However, I'm having some problems with my family. Well, my Dad is permanently drunk while my Mum has fallen ill. Therefore, my sister and I have to support the family.

Me: Oh, I see. Could you share with us some of your problem you are facing?

Hari: Well I am really worried because the amount of money my sister and I are earning are too little. I hope to find a better job in Bombay. It is a big city and there are many job offers there. Then, I can use the money for the family.

Me: Well, I do hope your family problem will be resolved. I'm really excited for you.

Hari: Thank you. But I'm kinda depressed. If I'm not able to earn enough money to support the family, it would be a big disgrace. I'm really angry with my Dad for betraying the family. If he wasn't drunk, life would have been easier for all of us. But I guess life goes on. It's just like a roller coaster, full of ups and downs. I can be independent through working at a young age.

Me: Good for you! It's good that you can be independent. Unfortunately, that's all the time we have. Thank you

Hari: No problem.

It is cooked without fat, over a very high heat as it is just made up of whole wheat flour with water and salt mixed together. Journal Entry Of Hari

Dear diary,

I'm really struggling with life now. With my Mom ill and my Dad permanently ill, I'm left with my older sis to support the family. Well, I've sacrificed a lot. I dropped out of school, and went to work in the field. Sometimes I would even go fishing and try my luck to catch fishes. Sigh.. How I wish life was better.
It's all my Dad's fault. He shouldn't have stopped work just for alchohol. It's kinda sad. All I ever want is to just have happiness, but I guess it will never happen. If I could just live a life from a new perspective, everything would be fine.
Well, I'm kinda thinking of going to Bombay to get a job. There are so many jobs that await me to choose. XD I hope to go there and earn more money to support my family. Hopefully turn my life the other way round. I would be able to have a better life, a better future. But time will tell. I'll just have to wait for the right opportunity to get there. I'm really excited. I finally get to see how town is like! :)
Anyways that's all I got to say. I can't wait to tell you what will happen in the future :) Byes!

Best Wishes,
Hari

Term 2 first post :)

Heys, long time no see! Anyways my life in Hwa Chong Institution is starting to get messy. I had to do more homework, more reading and even more tests. I paid much more attention in class compared to term 1 as I wanted to improve my grades this term. I'll just move step by step to my goal and see how it goes :) I was told that in term 2, everything gets harder and my grades would most likely fall. But who cares? I'm determined to work harder even though the going gets tough. Well term 2, here I come ! XD
